Butts and Guts Challenge- movement and gut health- a great combination!

If you're looking to upgrade your health, adding gut health enhancing foods and supplements and squats into your day can be incredibly beneficial.

The combination of these two activities can help improve your digestion, metabolism, flexibility, and strength.

Gut health is important for overall wellbeing. The bacteria in the digestive system helps us break down food, absorb nutrients, and fight off infections. Making sure your gut is healthy can help prevent chronic illnesses and digestive issues. Eating a balanced diet with plenty of fibre (prebiotic soluble dietary fibres especially) and probiotics, such as coco yogurt and kefir, can help keep your gut healthy. Additionally, drinking plenty of fluids and getting enough sleep can also massively help your gut stay healthy.

Squats are a great way to strengthen your core and leg muscles and personally I find them easy to fit into my routine. Doing squats regularly can help improve your posture, balance, and flexibility. Squats also target your glutes, which can help you look and feel better. When performing squats, be sure to keep your back straight and your feet flat on the ground with your toes pointed slightly outward.

When I haven't been doing them consistently for a while I start with wall squats to get me in the right position! Make sure to keep your chest up, and lower yourself until your thighs are parallel to the floor.

Adding gut health and squats into your day can help improve your overall health and wellbeing. Eating a balanced diet and getting enough sleep will help keep your gut healthy. And doing squats can help strengthen your body and give you a great workout.

You'll have a boost in happier hormones from both looking after your gut and your increased exercise activity. It's win win!

Start incorporating these activities into your daily routine, and you'll start seeing the benefits in no time!

If you would like some accountability I am running what I am lovingly referring to as the 'Butts and Guts Challenge' in March as I need to kick my own butt back into shape, I have hypermobility in my hips and after months of sitting working on the laptop even more due to college work I have gotten extremely weak and wobbly again.

I drink my Green Gut Glow shot daily anyway but I ran out about 2 weeks ago so I am giving myself a good reset.

Also, now we're on the personal stuff I turn 40 in April and I will be in Gran Canaria celebrating so I really want this butt in shape before then so the kids can't giggle at me and say - Mammy your bums is wiggling like jelly! 😄

A supportive group, with me, lets sort our Butts and Guts together guys! 30 days 1 quick drink 1 minute of squats- anyone can do it!
