Mental Health and Spring- take a review!

Spring and Mental Health is today's topic Love Lifers!

Is it the same for you? The arrival of spring, for me, brings with it a sense of renewal and hope.

This, I believe is mostly due to the fact that after months of darkness, cold weather, and shorter days, we're now able to enjoy more sunshine and warmer temperatures (and random snow - IYKYK 😂) but besides just the physical change in weather, there are also potential mental health benefits associated with this new season.

The longer days, brighter skies, and warmer temperatures of spring can help break us out of some of the depression and lethargy that often accompany winter months. Spending time outdoors in nature can be especially beneficial during this season as it allows us to soak up more vitamin D from the sun, which is essential for mood regulation. The change in scenery can also help us break free from our winter habits, allowing us to explore new activities, hobbies, or even locations.

I know myself I am beginning to wake earlier again and have been making it to our FREE Be Well Miracle Morning sessions live more often at 6:30am. If you would like to join just hit me up for the link - it is totally free and excellent mental self care daily.

Back to this....even if the weather hasn't quite warmed up properly yet, spring does still bring with it a sense of hope and possibility. It's a time for trying out something new, starting fresh, and making small changes in our lives that can have a big impact. This could mean taking up a new hobby, investing time into self-care, or learning something you've always wanted to.

The return of spring can also be beneficial for those with seasonal affective disorder (SAD), which is often triggered by the shorter days of winter. More time exposed to daylight can help alleviate symptoms, while the warm weather and blossoming nature can help to boost moods.

Taking advantage of the mental health benefits associated with spring shouldn't be underestimated; it could mean the difference between getting through a tough period or sinking into depression or anxiety for many.

Whether you make use of this season by getting outdoors more often, taking up a new hobby or activity, or just enjoying the sunshine for what it is, spring can be an important time for reviewing your mental wellbeing.

So make sure you take some time to enjoy this season and make use of its potential benefits! You’ll thank yourself later.
